Watersports and Water Parks in Cyprus
With the deep blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea encircling the island of Cyprus, it is no wonder that watersports are a big part of summer entertainment. Cyprus is known for its crystal clear waters and amazing climate, and you can find professional water sport operators in all seaside resorts and in some of the bigger hotels. There are many watersports to choose from, you can go for a fun ride on the banana boat or be a bit daring and try out parasailing. There is something for everyone, including children.
Some of the most popular watersports on the island include:
- Water skiing
- Jet skiing
- Wind surfing
- Tube rides
- Banana Boats
- Flying Fish
- Water cycling
- Kite surging
You can also hire speed boats and jet skis provided you are over 18 years of age and you go through all the instructions with the water sports operators. For safety reasons, all water sports that require instructions from the water sports operator must be carefully considered. All precautions necessary are taken and your safety is their main priority. Most if not all the waters sports operators are licensed and fully trained. One of the most spectacular water sports must be parasailing. These parachutes can take up to three people and they are suspended from a moving speedboat. Flying over the water and taking in the magnificent view is a real thrill, and this exhilarating water sport is enjoyed by thousands every summer.
For family fun or for a group of friends you can hire the flying fish or banana boat and for a group of adults the speed boat is another option. If you are looking for a leisurely ride on the water, the water bicycle will entertain you and give you some exercise at the same time. A canoe is another option for those who prefer something a bit calmer.
